I have to switch off the turbo timer from counting down pull out the key and put back in the key and then it will start. i am totally stumped and fedup at this problem.!

someone else mentioned fuel pump relay-- start there and then I would look at removing first your turbo timer--not needed and could be the issue and then the kill switches you mentioned and finally the alarm. One at a time until you find the problem. electrical issues are the pits--

well the randomly dying does not only occur while driving. Sometimes when at a red light by the traffic lights it dies on me twice while stand still idling.

I'm having a similar problem to the original poster. I can tell you that the fuel pump power is being cut off. The car starts every time, runs for 5 seconds and power to the pump goes from 12V to 0 and dies.

I tried doing what you suggest with the IACV and it only moves like a hair, you can barely even see that it moves. How much is the shaft supposed to move? 1/8", 1/4"? Mine probably moved 1/32" of an inch you could barely tell.

My car is a JDM EVO 8. So it does not have a factory map sensor.

My evo is doing something similar. Im going to rewire the fuel pump with my own relay and see if that works.
