So..... 2 days ago I put in a 12v relay on on the "trigger" wire going to the starter. So far it hasn't clicked once!!!! So, by removing the original trigger wire from the harness behind the battery and running a fresh one from a 12v trigger to the starter, it seems (so far) to have worked! I'll keep everyone updated on how it holds up.

***I guess it helps to also say that I measured the output voltage from my alarm "brain" when turning the key and was getting different readings each time I turned the key. Everywhere from 9v up to 11.8v. So I think the alarm was probably the cause. ***
