Evo 8 Megan o2 problems

Installed yesterday and it seems as though now the Megan o2 made the DP(also Megan) sit higher. The DP is hitting the transfer case(small corner of it) and tunnel. Feels like there is quite a bit of tension pulling the DP up and not free. Any ideas guys?

I have a megan 02 sitting in the garage right now. I compared it to my oem one and it did seem like it was a little shorter iirc. I know that there are some setups that are meant for acd and non acd cars, if that is any help. It still uses the oem spring bolts, so you may want to try and see if stiffer exhaust mounts like the kartboys may help 'pull' down the exhaust enough for ya.

Im gna check to make sure that donut is still on there. Are both flanges supposed to sit flush with one another? What are the differences in acd and non acd downpipes. Pics? Im a 03 evo 8 no acd.

If your using the oem spring bolts then no it will not sit flush.

Interesting as i see now with the oem spring bolts it is sitting flush. Itwas installed at a shop. So im guessing here, that if the donut gasket was not installed then that extra 1/2" of space or less is lost.

Basically there will be some gap in the dp and o2 housing with the Oem donut installed.

You are correct. It sounds ike they didn't install the doughnut.

This. Install the Kartboys only along the side of the DP & exhaust pipe(s) furthest away from the contact area. Install the soft stock mounts on the side of the exhaust closest to the contact area. Since the stockers have more give they will stretch away from the TC thus allowing the exhaust pipe to shift about 1/2" axially over to the driver's side of the chassis, as the Kartboys "pull" the pipe away from the TC.
