At 1k and that is where I would go back down to, you would need a white spring for that. I know you said you are gonna change springs or you did already but that is the proper spring to use. If the car still does it then yeah its definately tune related. I went back and saw you got a black spring. That will work but being it is a softer spring, it will open under throttle and make things worse. I went through like 3 springs myself and that wasn't even the problem. Tom fixed it the min he tuned it from my last tuner.

Edit - nm, I was reading for a 50mm, not the Q. White should be the spring to use...

Funny you said that because I had to look it up a few times to make sure I was correct after I posted

Yeah if the spring is in now then it definately sounds like a tuning issue or your map just needs to be smoothed out a little

From Local Cars in my area the injectors you are using seem to be the issue for the most part. I'd say try an ID2000 cc inj and have an E.R, Tscomp, or Mellon or have these guys I mentioned recommend an appropriate Injector. Hope you get everything sorted to enjoy the car man.

This or Precision with an aeromotive FPR which is what I had to switch to when my FIC 2150's were giving me a hell of a time. Precisions will work just as well as ID 2000's without costing you as much money.

One step stiffer than white. I forget the color at the moment.

That would be black and that would cause compressor surge. I tried one heavier and one lighter and the lighter one just opened to early and the stiffer one compressor surged big time.

Why did you have to switch to a afpr was there something wrong with your stock one? Plenty of people run double pumpers and 2150s with stock regs without any issues.

The 40r is proven to suck at this altitude I bet it's just surging like crazy and there is not much your going to be able to do about it. There are literally no fast cars that run a 40r variant in the Utah area because of these reasons. Good luck though

Swapping springs, or even making adjustments is a fairly quick procedure. I would just play around with it until you find your sweet spot. I originally had the same doubts as you as a softer spring seemed to make more sense.
