Could it be the CV joint?
Iv been chasing this problem with my right tire rubbing only on right turns. Iv looked at it about 100 times and cant find the problem. Could the CV joint be the thing im trying to fix. the boat is ripped also
This is my second boot, when i bought this car both were ripped. I replaced them. It most have been ripped for about a month but its funny cause none of the grease has came out into my engine bay.
If you have a tire rubbing on only one direction, your inner fender liners are probably to blame. How many miles on the car? Only reason I ask is due to control arm bushing wear which in theory would allow enough movement in hard corners to touch the fender liner.
A c/v joint wont allow for wheel travel - its simply connects the trans to the wheel and allows for the suspension travel and wheel turning.

I got the same problem, except I just replaced my left cv joint this weekend cuz my sound is on the left during left turns only and the sound has not gone away. I think it actually could be the shock, the bearing, I've read on a couple other forums that this fixed their problem, which was similar to ours, mine sounds like a mixture of rubbing and a little mechanical clicking. Plus there is a tire mark on the lower spring mount of front left side. Any ideas? I really hate misdiagnosing, and I already did the axle with little success, it seems a little better though.
I think that one guy might be right. with my 85k stock suspension maybe the control arm bushing is allowing more travel, but it might of messed up my front shock or shock bearing. Or like what he said, it is hitting the fender well, but that doesn't explain my slight mechanical clicks.
I have to make very hard sharp left turns to make it do this, if I go slow and make a left U turn, then nothing happens..... Any help anyone?
