Totalled my evo 8 rs, what next?
I dont know about in canada but here we have high mileage evos selling for 10 k. You could part your car and get that easy. Esp if its low mileage stuff. Start parting and selling and keep your eyes open. I sold just a bare shell like yours for 2300 alone.
yea, it is a clear title still which is good and im thinking about parting it out, im keeping my fingers crossed that the engine isnt cracked and all, i got a chance to look at it but i cant be sure till i pull it out..all i saw was that the tranny bell housing was slightly chipped where it connects to the block but thats it, tcase was fine...
im also looking for a roller so anyone knows somebody with one direct em here it doesnt HAVE to be an rs but i prefer one:

There arguement is going to be that the car most likely would not have been as damage if the crash beam had remained in place. By the Owner removing factory safety equipment, it caused further damage to the car than if the crash beam would have stayed. Its the reason I won't modify or remove my rear crash beam for a JDM Rear, other drivers are idiots and I'm not going to take the risk of betting that every driver behind me is not texting.
Sorry for your loss OP, I got a Rally Red 8 myself. The loss hurts, but once you get knocked down, hop back on and go bigger. I had an X before I got my 8, and I prefer the 8 hands down to the X. Willl only get an X when 8s and 9s become really hard to get.

But sorry for your loss Id love to pick the car to pieces if you lived closer lol. Reminds me of my dsm days. I swear I still have a friend who can smell a blown dsm from a mile away. ahhhhh the good day when you could just pick parts of a blown car.
This is not true I used to work for an insurance company again may not be what happens up in the great north but In good Ol USA doesnt matter. You could turn a street car into a full drag car not even street legal and as long as you have full coverage your fine. There are tones of problems/holes in the system but they can all be overturned with the right know how. In the US this would be a open shut case of total loss. Would still be your fault im guessing cause I dont know the details but you would be fully covered. Any company stating mods are a reason they arnt covering an accident is BS. That said many companies like Geico, Progressive, Statefarm, etc will cover the accident but then drop you from your policy because of excessive mods. Most insurance companies ask you if anything aftermarket has been done to your car. Cars with aftermarket parts equaling over 1/4 of the cars value are almost always DQ'd right there. Most the time the agent doesnt even have to do the computer will do it for him. Believe it or not most companies wont take you if you say you have intake and exhaust. Because they know while you say you dont race your car we all know you will you dont get those parts for nothing....
