ebay intercooler

so the last thing on my mod list is an intercooler than im buying the fun stuff, ef3 turbo, cams, etc... anyways i have a lower ets icp. The price for an ets intercooler is 500$. I like an idiot looked at ebay intercoolers. I know i know but does anyone have any experience with these or should i just go with ets? Also my pwer numbers will be in the 450-500whp is the 3" ets ic ok or do i need to go with a 3.5" or even thicker? Im hoping the 3" will be ok.
Thanks

might as well go ETS 3.5" esp with those goals, fits just fine with no modification. whats another $100 when you're already spending $500

In my opinion, pay for quality products, Evolutionm has several top notch vendors who have put a lot of quality time and hard work into developing and manufacturing the products they sell and offer their time to support those products on this forum.

Just my .02.

Don't do the eBay thing. You might get lucky and find an intercooler with offset and staggered fins, but the majority will be straight through and cheap and don't do a great job at heat dissipation.

I would recommend our 3.5"

Heatsoak is bad for the engine and turbo and you get retarded timings. Do it right and your car will last longer. Car will give more timing and you get more power. Go cheap and your car will give you the shaft down the road. It doesn't matter where you get it from, get a good "core".

Some things from eBay work and others don't; intercoolers are one of those things that you get what you pay for.

The link below is pretty much the greatest illustration of ebay vs a company such as ETS or AMS even if its used. The ebay people dont care what they make, as long as it looks like itll work and they can get past the 14-day return policies. Save for a good quality product or dont expect much out of your build.
