why the oem oil filter?

Good quality?

Personally, I've never used an oem filter because I don't have a Mitsubishi dealership around me. I stick with Wix or Napa filters (same thing). Whatever you do, stay away from the Fram filters though.

I go with Mobile1 Filter or Bosch..never had an issue or leaks.

I have had a fram fall apart on the DSM...yes oil pressure was a bit high. But it has never happen with a OEM or wix

Stay away from the Cheaper Fram filters, agreed.

Their X2/Extreme Gaurd/XG is no doubt one of the best filters you can buy.

I always stick to Oem just for safety. You never know how the other cheap filters are made
