crushing a 9 bov

I did a boost leak test last night and when i reached about 27-28psi my uncrushed 9 bov cracked open. This is ok for now cuz my peak is around 24 and with my new 3.5" ets fmic i installedbi dropped down a # or two. But when i get my fp red my tuner told me ill be around 28-30psi on e85. So my question is will crushing it hold to 30 all day? Or ive heard that crushing it is a bad idea and theres another mod to the 9 u can do. Its a gm mod or something?? Can someone explain. I searched all this and found nothing. Also i know i should just get a synapse recirced or a tial but id like to keep my 9 and save the $ if possible. Any tips or suggestions would be great. Like i said i want to be able to hold 30psi solidly.
Or if anyone has a used synapse and wants to trade with cash or has a bov they want to shed for cheap or trade as i have alota stock evo 8 parts to trade lmk. Thanx

Crushing the IX DV works, however you will loose a tad bit of driveability with it crushed...

Ok. Ya i figured it would but ive heard crushing them is oldschool and isnt the best thing to do. Theres another 9 bov mod u can do but i dont know how to do it. Apparently its a better route than crushing it.

What do u mean when first driving? I know how to drive an evo without stabbing the gas on high gear low rpm situations is thats what ur talking about?

Lets say you are cruising and lightly let up on the throttle, with the uncrushed valve, it will be a nice easy release of air, when it is crushed, it will buck & shudder as you have essentially changed the seat pressure of the DV...

To crush it put it in a vise and compress until the bottom of the vacuum nipple touches the housing...

I decided not to crush mine and just went with the synapse dv. I would definitely recommend it, obviously held 30 psi no problem, and its ridiculously quick, and idles perfectly, no downsides.
