IC Sprayer Status Light
I got this idea while reading about the MIVEC status light for Evo9 and 06 and up GT Eclipses. Has anyone ever tried to wire in an LED to let you know when the Intercooler Sprayer is spraying in Auto Mode? I realize 90% of Evo owners dont use/dont like/remove the Intercooler Sprayer, but Im one of those guys that likes all the OEM functionality of my car, so I use it on Auto mode quite frequently, and it uses quite a bit of fluid.
Im thinking wiring it up would consist of tapping into the positive of the pump motor, sending that to a relay. Wire a 12v LED into the switched side of the relay and mount somewhere non ricer status inside the car. When the pump is energized it should close the relay and light the LED, showing you that the ECU decided your Intake temps are getting high. Sound feasable?

I really like the idea. I may try this once I fix my sprayer system, it leaks.
Maybe wire it somewhere into the cluster. By where it just says evolution, drill a small hole to slip an led through. That's about the only place I can really think of to try and keep it clean and oem.

Im not totally sure where I would want it, maybe in the steering column pod between the 2 gauges. I drove my car home from work today with the sprayer in auto, didnt boost at all on the way home and there was still fluid missing from the tank, so it is definately doing something

Well I started looking into this, and I ended up going haggard and wrapping some wire around the switched side of the sprayer relay, sent that to a 95-99 Eclipse type instrument cluster bulb, and grounded it on the chassis near the fuse panel. Right now its just sitting in the compartment the fuel panel diagram is on, but whenever the pump is activated the light turns on. I will report back tomorrow after driving it to/from work, and see if it comes on at all.

Forgot all about this, but just in case anyone wants to see if their IC sprayer is working in auto, it does work this way. Wire a small bulb or LED into the relay for the sprayer under the dash, put it in auto, and as long as your IC spray settings are good it will spray and light up whenever all the conditions are met. I've noticed hot days it sprays, cool nights it does not, so mine is working correctly.
