Poor fuel mileage

Making my own thread about this....

Mods in signature

Only getting 150 miles a tank, staying out of boost. No boost leaks, keeping the boost gauge in the negatives. AFRs at cruise and idle right at 14.7 my walbro is whining but they all do that. Weather is very cold here. Anybody encounter a problem like this and figure it out? Find a fuel leak anywhere??

I'm at a loss any input would be great!

Check your front o2 sensor. That was the cause for my horrible mpg with my talon. If you can log your car check your fuel trims and see if they are way out of wack.

I can log, if the front o2 sensor was bad wouldn't it throw a code? And my wide band shows correct. Ill do some research , but thank you very much for your input

If my wideband is reading correctly at idle cruise and WOT could the front o2 still be the reason for bad gas mileage?

Thinking might be on its way out. But my wideband is reading correctly

Where is your wideband located? Some people think if its to far from the engine it cant read accurately... I'm nuetral here because i have no clue. However if you have or know someone with a tactrix cable you can log short term fuel trim or o2 feedback. Same thing diff name. And if it reads close to 0 +/-2 some say as high as 4-6, then you o2 is fine and compensating properly. If it read nil or doesnt fluctuate then its toast.
Check your fuel pressure... It should be around 43.5... Especially since youre running a 255. If you dont have an aftermarket fpr you could be overrunning it.

Also check your driving habits. Its not only keeping the car out of boost that gets good gas mileage. If you keep rpms to low 15-2000 and try to accelerate you put the engine under much more load then if you were at 2500. On the highway its better to down shift to accel then to try to in 5th or 6th. Things like that seem small but they add up.
Next time you try to fill up make sure the fuel light is on... Top off the tank. And see how many gallons you put in. It should be between 11 and 12. If its not your gauge could be off.

Park your car and put pig mat or a couple shop towels under the fuel lines down the drives floor pan and on the transmission in the engine bay. Idle the car for 10 minutes or so and check for wetness on the towels. They will absorb fuel and tell you if you have a fuel leak

If you can log a cruise you can fuel the afr over a time and check to see if it goes crazy at any points.
Idk its late i'm fresh out of ideas

Fuel trims may be out of whack. Take a 20 min drive and log ltft then sit for 5 minutes and idle for stft. Add them together and see how much they are compensating.

my wideband is located right after the bend in the downpipe, its a AEM UEGO and i followed the install instructions to a T! I shift around 2500-3000. Im at such a loss although i threw a P0134 but my wideband is reading correctly though. if the sensor was bad wouldnt the afrs read off?

I thought my economy was bad at 230 ish per tank.

Has the economy always been that bad with your current injectors?
