.... i am making the fun jump from my stock 8 turbo...to an Fp red bb 84mm and kelfords...... My tuner says on e85 ill be just above that 500 mark and 93 around 450 all while keeping tq around 400 so i dont grenade my stock block......i just wanted to hear some takes on others who have an Fp red already with close to the same on supporting mods. Id like to hear.....how the power feels......
Did you order the turbo fitted with the FP 18# actuator, or the 25# unit? While it's parked in the garage this winter why don't you pull the IM and send it in to have it ported and the TB as well?

OP...what are you looking to find out specifically?
I have my RED for about 2 years + now...still love the feeling of when the boost hits and the crystal clear spool sound of the turbo vs the quiet stock. The red is a good choice, mid range kick and keeps going.
Check my thread of my mod list i made after i slapped on the red in 2010:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...hp-468wtq.html
Since then I have added a exhaust cut out(opens at the push of a button and amsoil filter with direct ram air from from fascia. I have not ran high boost or meth since i dyno'd, the 440whp I'm averaging now has been plenty for me with the exception of when I got walked by a Evo X with a FP Black on E85...only pulled by about 3 cars vs my mod list on 93 oct. So in 2+ years and a good handful of cars raced, I have only lost once lol
For some reason, I don't get too many people wanting to run me. I just get thumbs up from ricers, subies, other evo's etc ...

(excuse the ghetto heat plate, still have yet to finish it)

Recently tuned a buddy of mines IX with jb fp red! Really impressed on this turbo, seems like a perfect fit for stock motor, patiently waiting for him to get a BB black or GTX so I can swoop this red up
I hope there are a few more red stories in here as I'm going for a red at the start of next year which will be run on E85. If in 2nd gear when you floor what sort of revs do they start to really pull?
Different kettle of fish I know but I've got an R33 skyline with a GTX3071R and it start frying the 255 rears at 3800 in 2nd gear. I'm wanting something equally as responsive or better for my evo .

Just curious as to why the run looks like it started so late sorry to be off topic a little just seemed very late to start a run to log
500/450 stock bottom end? I'd be looking for stories of how many people pull this off on a red, for how long, and how they drive the car. I've heard more than one end with a connecting rod in half and a hole in the block.
And yes, I know, you don't care, stop being off topic and mods close the thread.

I wish that I had a BB Red. I have the JB Red but would prefer the BB version because spool with the JB version is just a tad slower than I like it. The upgrade to BB should cut about 300-400 RPM off the spool and transient reponse should be much improved as well.

As for the guy that suggested klonopin, it sounds like someones dad didnt use his belt properly and teach him a lesson in keepin to himself. This is a forum so i figured if people wanted to throw their take out there go for it. It looks like theres a few guys on here that appreciate the thread cuz its helping them make a decision or their in my boat. But if u feel like hatin, go ahead. Whatever it takes to make u sleep in ur moms basement better at night
