Boost issues after UICP install
Boost issues after UICP install
I know what you are thinking...and yes i had a boost leak test to 25psi. Background of the story, i had ETS long route 2.5" piping with a synchronic dv...i just installed the short route 2.5" piping, a tial q, and a mini battery. I am running an EF4 speed density, 28 PSI. Again, all i did was install the piping, bov, and battery. Once i installed, my turbo started lagging pretty bad, hp dropped significantly, and psi dropped to 26. i tightened all the bolts i could related to the exhaust system, intake piping, IC piping, everything, and then got a boost leak test. The guy at Spec Ops said that at 25 PSI, if there was a leak, he would hear it. MAP said check the spring in the Tial, spring should be good, its the yellow 11 psi spring. I double checked the WGA and it can not be adjusted any more. I never race my car, only DD to and from work. I drive like a grandma, and the turbo is less than a year old. I am completely out of ideas and can't finish my tune until i figure out why the h-e-double hockey sticks my turbo is acting up.
Question 1: Is a 25 psi boost leak test good enough or should i bring it back and tell them go to 30?
Question 2: Is there anyway to check the WG flapper without unbolting the o2 housing?
Question 3: Has anyone had these issues???
Question 4: Can anyone help?? haha

vacuum lines to your boost control system and BOV? check them all and ziptie them tight...
weird that it's passing a test. a small leak i'd expect a drop once spooled, not a loss of spool. that seems really weird

In case anyone was following this I figured I would update you all on the progress. I finally figured it out. When I originally had the car tuned I had a turn down instead of an exhaust. I recently put my exhaust back on and even though its only a test pipe I guess it was restrictive enough to take 2 PSI away from me and slow the spooling process. Learn something knew every day!
