stupid snow question.

coming from NZ where it never snows. (mind me, im from the northern part auckland)

Now, Im living in japan and it snows abit here.
I would like to snow how people take the piled up snow off their evos without scratching the paint?
Last time i left it piled up which then turned into ice and it didnt sound nice when i was ripping it off.

Whats the secret?

dont let it build up on the car, reason it turned to ice/snow and scraped off your car is because either the temperature outside got close to the freezing point or the sun got the exterior of the car warm enough to start to have it melt, of course it only partly melts and then freezes into a block of ice,

best thing to do is to have a snow brush and park the car overnight in a garage, if you cant park it in a garage simply have the brush handy and go out to your car 5 -10 min early on your way to work in the morning to take some time to clean it off

good luck with the white stuff

edit* if it does build up and you have no choice to remove it, run a hose of warm water on it, thats the best way to remove it without harming the paint

I wouldnt pour hot water on a frozen car unless you like having your windows cracked.

NO!!! the extreme temperature change will crack your windshield.
get one of the handy-dandy tools with a brush on one side, ice scraper on the other. when you park your car, pull your wipers up off the windshield so they dont freeze to it (when temps drop near or below freezing)
when you go to leave, use the brush, brush the snow off your driver door, start up the car, power lvl 2 windshield defroster, and let your car warm up while you brush the snow off the car.
if theres ice on the windows, use the ice scraper end of the hand-dandy doo-dad
