Strut Install...

I got my old struts out and Im about to install my new setup and was wondering if there is a certain way the the top side has to be installed? As far as the bolts go I mean, or does it matter as long as all 3 off them are through. Never done struts before lol

Makes no difference. Everything just has to line up at the top, and the bottom (some struts have the bolt holes in a certain order, can't remember if it's like that on the Evo)

Unless you are running some Camber or Camber/Caster plates it doesnt matter how you have them oriented on the top. The factory top hats spin freely and make no difference.

I figured! Thanks guys. I'm very excited to get the stockers w/ the dreaded Tein S-techs off my car and replace with Bilstein HD's and GTWORX springs. Looking for a big difference from what I have read.

Just to confirm. Here's my "dilemma".

I had the car on jack stands and went to take off the strut tower brace for better access to the UICP. Naturally, the struts fell out and turned a little. When I went to put them back a few hours later, it was not obvious which stud came out of which hole. Being in a hurry late at night in the dark, I just put them back in the hole closest figuring "if it was so important, it wouldn't be completely ambiguous".

Am I good? Or should I go back and make sure that the springs are at least symetrically oriented (which I didn't bother to do)? Car seems to ride just fine.

Please advise.

I'm quoting this very reputable source

As was stated prior the factory top hats have no specific orientation so you should be good to go
