[Just wondering why? Charging or bearing failures? does your car sit for a while? And what replacements do you get? I heard the autozone rebuilds with cheaper parts and get replaced earlier.]

When I first got the car, the alternator it had was using one of those Unorthodox Racing pulleys. My mechanic buddy believed that caused the failure. I had it replaced with a Autozone Duralast model. That alternator eventually went bad; it was overcharging. The one I currently have I got from Machines Gone Wild. They also told me the same thing about not purchasing alternators from the auto parts vendors.

 

Thank for the info. Someone just told me they changed out 3 alternators from Autozone on his car.

I got mine from Mitsubishi since it was in stock and installed it on Saturday afternoon.

 

Go stock best way bought an high output lasted a week, mine went out at 70k only cause voltage would dip below 12v when coming to a stop.

 

We have the technology.. we can rebuild him!!
