Which path to choose?

I want to spend some money again and make a little more power but i have a limited budget. Car has full turbo back exhaust, filter and a mbc currently. I have a lower ic pipe, Walbro 255 and a greddy profec II waiting to be installed. With the parts I already mentioned, what would the fiscally efficient( money to power) choice of parts be? Cams or an upper ic pipe with a bigger fmic?

Looking for opinions

The stock upper IC pipe works well, not really needed to upgrade that right away. I would do both the cams and fmic if you can afford it finding good deals. Cams will net you the most power though right now.

This car runs the old style AMS fmic and stock UICP, makes about 550HP on a mustang dyno.

See that's what I thought too. However cams and a fmic together is a few hundred more than I would like to spend. But you're right, finding a deal could work

I made good power with a stock turbo on the AMS replica fmic (ebay copy). They run about 250 new or 100 used. Kelford 272s used are about 400, or the HKS 272s are about 300.

I would just save money until you can afford an intercooler and cams. That way when you get tuned you'll be getting the most out of it in one shot. If you're going with an aggressive cam (which you should IMO.. get the most bang for your buck right?) you're going to need upgraded springs and possibly retainers which will be another few hundred. I know it sucks waiting but it'll be better in the long run.

I wouldn't worry about the stock UICP too much until it comes time to replace your stock IX DV then you can think about getting one with a flange for a beefier DV like a Tial. Unless of course you're going for the bling factor...

edit: Just noticed that you already have a MBC but you're waiting to install a Greddy EBC. IMO sell/return the Greddy and just stick with the MBC unless there's something I'm missing. I used a Hallman MBC for years without a single issue and only recently switched to ECU based boost so I could run 93 octane and e85 maps.

Next step would be FMIC and Cams. I would do a Upper pipe if you could just because it will help and a short route Upper pipe make the bay looks a lot cleaner

Don't spend money on an UPIC that isn't short route. Move that hunk of disgusting voltage to the trunk. If you plan to run speed density or are even interested in it get the AIT bung attached. Buying parts too fast leads to regret

I agree with you. I forgot to mention earlier that I have a mini battery as well so it would be a short route upper ic pipe

Cams, FMIC, and a good tune. Just like others have stated, save up and get good quality parts so you don't have to upgrade an upgrade down the line.

Definitely wouldn't hurt. I've been looking at the ETS short ram intake to go along with their wide tank fmic instead of an upper pipe.

Cams/Intercooler sounds like a good idea but like others stated I. Would save up some money and wait if your going to have everything apart might as well do cams/springs/retainers and intercooler then tune you'll be much happier than having to tear it apart again when you wanna mod, imo anyway.
