800+ awhp evo.
at the end of the day people will choose what they want, but please don't post that stock ecu is only good for WOT and the rest sucks, because its simply not true at all! if that was the case i would have long ago ditched it. I am extremely picky about driveability and the way my cars run in general, which is why i became a tuner.
the stock ecu is a form of alphaN i believe.
something also that a lot of people take for granted is, remember the stock ecu came from the factory on these cars. there are so many fail safe implementations built into it that if sensors fail and so forth it will not blow the car up & it will throw cels. the stock ecu has to pass certain regulations since its being sold in a production line to the masses.
Some ems like HKS Vpro will still utilize these safety features in the stock ecu though.
If i were to switch to a EMS id probably switch to a AEM v2.
I can list off nice things the aem can do the stock ecu cant, but they don't involve better driveability or anything like that. the main feature i like is boost comp, where you set the curve, and from there the ecu will self adjust itself based on the boost pressure. thats one option the aem has over the stock ecu that is a major plus. and of course the live tuning.
something you should remember though. the aftermarket EMS's are only as good as the software engineers make it. another words, you could have one of the best EMS's hardware wise, but if the software sucks, then no one is going to want anything to do with it. the AEM has progressed a lot and its software is pretty user friendly now & full of features.
