No Start Issues
No Start Issues
So a couple days ago I was driving to work and as soon as I stopped at an intersection a block away my exhaust sound changed to a "diesel" sound (I also have an external waste gate) rather than the smooth quick sound. The idle didn't really drop a whole lot, maybe 200-400rpms and it was quite slow when accelerating. I assumed that it was one of my injectors going and so I parked it at work, grabbed one of my extra Evo 6 injectors and cleaned it up overnight to be put in. I started it up again, hooked up evoscan and turned on each injector actuator to see which cylinder it is. 4,3,2 made changes to the idle and made the vehicle shake and when I did #1 it made no changes.
The next day, my Evo wouldn't start at all, however that morning the temperature dropped from -10 to -20 and it is currently staying like this for a few days :/ but before I left it sit over night, she started up just fine with no problems.
So yesterday I replaced the #1 cylinder injector with the Evo 6 one and then attempted to start. This time it had even more of an issue starting, it would hardly even fire.
I do remember accidently pressing the fuel pump actuator but nothing happened when I did, so I doubt that has anything to do with the current no start and no fire. She cranks completely fine and battery is at full.
So today, my plan is to pull the rail, see if there is fuel coming out and if there is - I'll be pulling my plugs and spark plugs out. Anyone have any input or suggestions on this issue?
Here is my mod list:
-Evo Power Mods version 2 exhaust waste gate dump
-GSC 272/272 cams
-Hallman manual boost controller
-AMS Front Mount Intercooler (3.5" greddy race core with AMS custom weldedend tanks
-AMS Lower Intercooler pipe
-Megan Racing 3" downpipe
-Ultimate Racing 3" exhaust with high flow cat and vibrant muffler
-Apexi vortex turbo intake
-Factory Evo9 mr metal BOV
-Walbro 272 Fuel Pump
-Exedy Organic clutch and ACT lightweight flywheel

I hooked up Evoscan, applied the Fuel pump actuator and I can hear the fuel pump run. So Fuel pump is most likely good. I also did a short datalog while cranking the car, would this be able to show anyone the issue?
I can email the CSV file to someone that is willing to help me out :P

Just checked compression, Its all 139-170. Coolant is clear and not contaminated. I kind of think its a blown HG... but I drove fine for half a day with it idling funny... There is quite a lot of oil in Cyl 3 though :/.. My plugs were dripping when I pulled them. I'm going to find a way to suck all the oil out and do another Compression test to make sure its not my rings.
Do a leakdown test.
That way you could determine if its rings, intake valves or exhaust valves if you have excessive leak down.
Also, you checked injectors with a noid light?? Remember there is an injector resistor box between the ecu and injector.
