Evo price
Broeli,
Exactly my point, hey have they made a good turbo/supercharger yet for that nissan 3.5 V-6, cause once they do itll be pretty sweet to see the altima, pathfinder, maxima, G-35, I-30, and QX4,and 350Z all running the exact same ****. Talk about a great way to lower production costs

I heard there are several in the works....will push the G35/350Z to around 350hp. Nismo is going to offer high performance parts backed by factory warranty soon also...which will include exhaust, intake system, ecu, springs, etc.
As you can tell I've been researching my other options if the Evo doesn't meet my expectations in looks, cost, or performance.

I'm looking to stillen since they've always had awesome nissan parts at great prices. www.stillen.com
Stop worryin about the price ladies....
There's plenty of talented little midgets of there futzing with the price right now...and judging from what else is out there right now,
won't have any issues keeping it under $30k

I agree, I don't think Mitsubishi would be dumb enough to overprice the Evo, considering what the competitors are offering. This is a good time to be a car enthusiast -- lots of good cars available at reasonable prices. Don't forget that the old Supras, 3000 GT VR4s, and RX7s were all in the 40k range which helped kill their sales here in the States.
Went to my local mits dealer in Wallingford, CT (Executive Mitsubishi).
According to the guy I talked to who tried to say as little as he could said almost everything will be standard, RECARO seats, BREMBO brakes, etc etc.
Also I got word on the price. None of you are wrong actually.
Here's the scoop as I hear it.
The Evo will sell for less than 30k. Or rather just at 30k. You know, like 29,995 or whatever. However there WILL be MRSP markups all over. He said they will not go for this price in the first year, and they will sell differently per dealer from about 35k all the way up to 50k..
Boys and girls... Save your pennies, these Pontiacs (least the front end) are gonna be one expensive item!

No dealer will get my money if it's above msrp. I don't care if it's $50 above. I would have a tough time even paying msrp. Not that I couldn't afford it....I just refuse to be some stupid idiot that throws away money. I'll wait until demand lowers or buy one used if I HAVE to.
What's with ppl talking about Nissan now? They're a horrible company I'd never buy a car from them. If you wana know what I'm talking about goto www.nissan.com and read about it.
PLEASE...I beg of you people. Check out this thread:

It's got images of my receipt saying that the dealer will be selling me an Evo for MSRP.
Use this to your advantage...tell the dealers around your area that you can obviously find somewhere that WILL sell for MSRP and you've got the receipt to prove it.
I just contacted the dealer again to make sure that they're still willing to sell for MSRP, and they said "of course".

Don't ask if they'll sell for msrp...ask how much over invoice they'll sell for!
Don't give them the idea that you're willing to pay msrp or more...they'll take full advantage of you. I talked to a dealer that said he will deal with me on price like all their other Mitsubishis. Problem is, is that they ren't taking deposits until they get the go ahead to order.

Did anyone see the latest rumors on the Evo Vlll and WRX sti in the Sept. issue of Motortrend?... It say's "Not to be outdone by Mitsubishi's Lancer Evo Vlll, Subaru plans to show the long- awaited WRX sti at the Detroit Auto Show in Jan. 03 Both cars will have 2.0 turbo fours, AWD, six-speed gear boxes. And both are expected to produce somewhere in the vicinity of 260-280hp and have pricetags north of $30,000."
Oh well some good news along with some bad.
