Evo price

Ight, price...look, with brembo, recaro, and the carbon fiber wing, yeah its gonna get pricey. I said Estimate when I talked 30-37k. I have a good feeling that its going to come out at a top price of 35k. Now pay attention everyone. THERE IS A LANCER THAT IS PRICED UNDER 30K, OVER 20K. Mitsubishi will have 5 models of the lancer...ight?
Models are..... ES, LS, OZ...now there is a lancer with a bigger engine than the OZ, but less than the EVO, and it will look more like the EVO than an OZ. Don't ask what its called, I have no clue, didn't catch it. Then there is the EVO VIII. That is your Lancer, EVO looking car under 30K.
To answer another question. The EVO's front end looks like a Galant type Mitsubishi insignia front end, with plenty of air intakes...ALL OVER.
Fog Lights I don't recall seeing, but then again, I was too busy drooling than noticing if they were there or not.
*****I HEARD, that orignally it was to have 310hp, then 300, down to 276(euro spec), then as low as 250hp.
Oh yeah, please don't mention a WRX in a positive manner...not on this site. Remember the WRX is the enemy!

37K? Ouch, seems kinda pricey. Why not import one for 35k? I hope this isnt what plans on doing. :dreams ruined:

SORRY AJF HAVE TO MENTION THIS ABOUT THE ENEMY. I have a friend that just pick up a Black WRX, it looks pretty good besides those damn headlights and it does have some pep, for 24,500 Loaded TTL included.
I mean lets get real. Here in Texas

WRX (BASE) 22,900 ( LOADED )24,500 (After Dealing)

EVO VIII (Rumors) (BASE) ~30,000 (LOADED) ~37,000

I would rather own an EVO and i know that im going to be everytime i see a 37,000 EVO in my WRX, but at that price it's just not in my budget right now. Maybe in the future, I will trade it in and get an EVO, I will be making more $$$$ then too.
An EVO owns a WRX any day of the week, but if they water down the EVO and performance is equal to or even slightly better than the WRX i cant justify spending 10 grand more for an EVO. But thats just my opinion on the matter. But if they bring the Real Deal Holyfield EVO over and Cost around 30k (My Budget right now) like the rumors first stated, then it will be well worth the money. And i will own one for sure . I will just have to wait until January or Spring 2003.

The ASX is an AWD crossover vehicle that has next to nothing to do with the Evo.

AJF, Who did you hear this estimate from? I still think anything over 32k for a well optioned Evo would be a big mistake. There is going to be a very small market for a 37k Evo. Explain to me how they are planning on going from under 30k to 35k+. I heard from someone that does marketing for that the base price for the Evo will be right around 29k.

Does the fake evo have pushed out fenders or the same fenders from the OZ?

I doubt that the evo will have 250hp. Remember we have 10hp than the euro WRX and the euro sti has 260hp meaning the U.S. sti will have around 270 and the evo will have around 270hp. The evo Vii actually has over 300hp flywheel after converting from the 4 wheel dyno. The evo is stronger than the sti so over 260 is more likely.

The intercooler is fairly large right? Did they say if brembos and recarios are optional?

I know, I was kidding. Fun knowing how much more you will be paying over here for the equilvent of a GSR ($25K).

but you have to compare those numbers to a Subaru WRS STi, not the base.

Exclamation 37k my @$$

There is NO WAY that thinks that they can get more than maybe 32 or 33 for the very first ones. I mean let's get real here it is still a pretty ****ty car, and no matter how many fancy diffs and HP it is still very cheap and plastic inside ( not 40k sport sedan class ). Besides that, their target buyer is not the 30-40 year old CEO that the M3 is aimed at.

I will not pay, more than 32k EVER.

I stand corrected Silver. Your right. In order to make a fair comparison it would have to be the Sti. Thanx for the correction.

I agree, it doesn't even come close to comparing to the $30,000 Infiniti G35 in terms of interior/exterior quality/fit/finish. The Infiniti comes with nice leather, and will have Brembos, LSD, and 6-speed manual tranny avail as options. All that, and it can still be had for around 32k.
Just because the Evo is a rally inspired awd car with some fancy features and high performance parts doesn't make it worth over 30k in my opinion. Remember, this is a car that sell for 24k in Japan.
