what do you mean by eating them... can you post a pic or two...

also what if anything has been done... major to the car... like have you had the entire engine rebuilt or such things...

I just meant eating as in they just stop working. I would have problems when starting the car with it grinding and sometimes like the starter was kicking back. Then other times were the car would start perfect. Too the starter just quit working. Maybe the cranking voltage is too low?

As to the mods done to the car noting major. just intake, 1000cc injectors, full exhaust.

It could be:
battery
bad connection starter harness
bad starter solenoid
a faulty turbo timer

Have you taken a look at your ring gear for damage? Typically they wear out in 4 specific spots (where the engine tends to naturally stop due to the cylinder pressure after the ignition is cut).

I can't imagine that a bad ring gear or flywheel would be eating starters, but might be worth a quick look as this is really the only component that the starter interacts with. If the ring gear is just fine then I would say 99% chance it is electrical.

Well I went and got a replacement starter and put that on, as well taking out the turbo timer thought maybe this somehow was creating a high resistance when i started the car. Anyways my evo has been starting great for 3 days now keep my fingers crossed and hope this is a fix! Thanks for the help
