Average labor costs

I was searching for information about upcoming items that require fixing. There was no threads found so I thought this would be an informative thread. This is for the non-DIY projects that we undertake. Please be aware costs obviously vary depending on additional issues found, location, shop, etc

The goal of this thread is to check you are not getting bent over without proper lubrication.

Please post the following information:

General location (City, State):
Required work:
Parts or without Parts:
Cost:
Additional Notes:

Example:

Hackensack, NJ
Master/slave cylinder replacement
No parts provided
Cost: $350
Additional notes: Dead clutch pedal. Clutch pedal sticking to the floor, no leaks, slave/master failure. Issue resolved.

You can provide the name of the shop but this isn't for flaming shop to shop. I prefer knowing the average price so I know who I can deal with that gives fair pricing!

Closest shop from NNJ I'd let within 20 ft of my car is 4-5 hours north

Haven't found a job that I don't want to do myself that bad enough yet

I'm with you but I wish I had mechanic knowledge in my blood. I am learning the basics and willing to touch on somethings that I feel won't cause an arm and a leg if I mess up. So items such as my transfer case leak and dead clutch pedal will be taken care of by a proper mechanic. Better done right than wrong costing more. A lot of people here will jump on people for touching a wrench not knowing what to do. I honestly don't have the proper tools so don't want to give it a go. I just don't want to take the chance at this time. The wife is monitoring my spending on the evo!

It was an example. I am hoping for ~200 in labor and 150 for the parts. As per mitsubishiparts.net it should be 150+ shipping for parts alone.

You could easily do it yourself. 2 10mm cap bolts, a line, bleed and your done.

the new slave needs to be prepped before on a bench. I could probably undertake that but my 2 other issues have to go to a mechanic so I could possibly hold off on that issue depending on severity or price of fixing those two.

I'm up in North Jersey and hardly handy, so I'm subscribing for your updates, always good to know where quality work is locally. A good friend of mine owns a shop close to me and has helped me out countless times, if you need an honest set of eyes/hands locally, PM me.

Not everyone is mechanically inclined, simple jobs can turn into huge headaches/costs.
