My friend offered me cash for my evo
Just have a question on what I should do. A friend of mine offered me 16,000 cash for my Evolution viii. I have all bolt ons n a conservative tune. My car is in beautiful condition just needs a new clutch. I am planning some more upgrades like cams, clutch injectors, e85/pump tune Ect. Should I sell it for a Evo X or keep my baby n build her?
Thats hard to say. In my opinion, I would rather keep my Lancer Evolution IX instead of trading it for a Lancer Evolution X. Ive driven a Lancer Evolution X, and I have to say, its an awesome car, but I like my Lancer Evolution IX more due to things like weight and the 4G63T motor and a few other personal opinions. You should ask yourself what qualities do you like in each Lancer Evolution and use that to help you make a decision. The newer model is not always better than the older model in some case. This is basic information, but it helps. Also, I you can KBB quote your car to even see if its worth the $16k. KBB is a great way to get a baseline price.
Good luck on your decision! My personal opinion to this is to keep your current car.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna keep her. She's been good to me and has that raw power feel to her and turns heads every time I drive her and I see guys are getting a lot of miles out of these motors. And yes CDHoff I would regret it later. So I'll go ahead n order my cams, injectors, fuel pump n get the speed density dual map tune on pump/E85 and put down some more power.
Sounds like your VIII is in near pristine condition; so based on what you said: How many miles or on your evo? I wouldn't sell it for 16K if the evo has under 45K. you can quotes this, Good VIIIs are hard to find these days.
And as far as people making hesty generalization of the X, myself included(until just recently) drive it before you make concrete statements about it. CZ4As have succeeded far quicker to 11s and 10s in the 1/4 quarter than CT9As.

Coming from someone who has owned both....the X surpasses the VIII in almost every way. I didn't look back one bit.
The only people who don't say that are those who haven't driven the X...
