NY failed inspection

My car shows o2 sensors and cat not ready. I've driven almost 200 miles already, both highway and city, let the car cool down and did it again. It seems no matter how far I drive, they continue to show not ready. I do have a full tbe exhaust. The shop I went to told me some guys drive for 500+ miles and it still shows not ready. Other's drive for a week. Anyone know anything else I can do to pass inspection, aside from paying extra for a sticker.

You can't pay for a sticker anymore dude....

All vehicles are Vin encoded with the readiness test....

since you don't have a Cat. unless you are using extender in the rear o2 it will never pass. ask your tuner if he even disabled it.

Best solution is the OBD2 all pass in the Thephra ROM

Can you put a OEM cat or high flow cat on your TBE? Or is there not flanges for it?

Are you tuned? Like 4RETECH said you can tune it out on Tephra Rom.

I do have a tune. Trying to get in touch with my tuner to see if he can do anything. I asked the shop I was at about putting the cat back on and they said it wouldn't really make a difference. They just kept saying to drive more.

being a NYS Inspector... It won't work. you will just waste more gas.
contact your tuner for the best option....

Needless to say. It is a Federal offense to tamper with emission control devices, so Contact your tuner or PM people........

Unless you have a cat how do you expect it to show "ready". Put the cat back in, wont take 30 min. drive the car for 50+ miles, in traffic and if all is well it will show ready along with the 02's. You wont need to get retuned, if anything you will run a little rich. Pull the battery cable and the ecu will relearn to a degree---this is the cheap fast way. or tephra mod--

The car doesn't know how many miles it has been driven. I have flashed my car and drove 4 miles straight to inspection and passed. This issue is part of your tune is not set correctly.

Tunes not set right. I've seen people swap ecus at places and pass with just a start.

That's pretty crazy. Too bad for me though, I don't know anyone else with an evo that would swap ecu's. Looks like it might be my tune. I was tuned by mellon racing in va beach a few months ago. I'm going to see another tuner in ct.

Nah, not swap with another person. Swap from aem to stock ecu, then back.

I had the same sitation last year. Couldn't figure it out and ran out of extra time alotted to get inspected. So I got an OBD readiness added into my map from my tuner.
