I've always feared this happening to my Evo as well . You can actually order them from your local Mistubishi dealer for around the same price as Lancershop.

How do you get them off without removing the wheel?

he is right... a flat head screwdriver... scratched my rim in the process but im going to superglue or loctite them in so it would break before they even get them out!

Im not sure I would superglue them down. When you get your wheels/tires balanced that centercap must be removed as that secure the wheel down using the center bore of the wheel. Therefore according to your theory anytime they will need to to be removed they would be broken.

darn... superglue was about to be my answer to it too!... i might just pick up some normal mitsubishi branded ones and then plasti dip the rims.

yup they would be broken just to balance... dang....ahahaha i need to come up with an idea... i mean if there was a clip that would be great but those were on the other rims i read on other mitsubishi evos. (i think correct me if im wrong) but they had clips holding that center cap down.

Well I know that the center cap that comes on the stock Enkies do have a metal clip. I dont know if the same hold true for the BBS's.

This might be petty, but buying these off of eBay, or even off of here is almost certainly perpetuating the problem.

I'd rather just pay for new ones than entice the thieves with demand.

I agree with you to a certain (very small) extent, however in that logic any used car parts sale is enticing thieves to steal more car parts.

Correct. Just so everyone is aware... the statistics are ridiculous.

Something like 50% of used car parts are stolen.

The issue is, it's MUCH easier to steal center caps, than it is to steal a hood, or a turbo, and the cost savings of buying used vs. new isn't really problematic. So I say, manage the risk where we can.

agreed! BBS needs to come up with some clip system where the tire has to be removed to remove that cap.. because this is just ridiculous. im about to just buy some standard mitsubishi ones now.. just because i know those bbs ones will get stolen again!
