One sweet car
The first shipment is still being worked on I believe. I think it says so several posts back or in another one of the EI car threads. They're being converted to nhtsa standards at present.

I will report back when I start driving it daily. I've been looking for ways to get one of the japanese rally specials since '95, when I tried a STI Type-RA. I expect this car to be so much better.
The break-in will be hell.

WoW!
I didn't know that you could get the RS-II's in the US already...
I had a yellow evo 7 RS-II here in Manila but sold it last May.
I will be moving to LA in February and I want one!
How much did it cost and where do I get one?
Thanks!

Experiences so far...
To you lucky Evo VII dudes: What are your experiences so far (besides euphoria)? How's the ride? Stiff... harsh... just right? What about overall build quality? Road noise? Handling?
thanks
thanks

Can't comment on the ride yet because the cars are still being legalized, and should be completed last week of september or very early october.
Will post some comments then

Whoa, good thing I stopped by WRC, I wrote in my report it was already legal thanks for the post and not writing any miss information(you know how Prof. are)!! Well, I would love to here your comments on the ride also!!! Thanks again!!!
my bad, I thought you guys had them already.
One question though -dumb as it may be... If there was a way, what's to stop somebody from skipping the emissions legalities and driving it with full-on Japanese spec? Couldn't they get away with it for a while -especially in another state than Cali?

hi, i just noticed this post. i, having a evoVII back home i was wodering, do these pictures mean that they're here now? if not, when are they expected and for how much? just for comparison or prices. oh, and to all future evo owners, HAVE FUN!!!!
Correct me if i am wrong... but regarding grey import to USA, I came from the Miata community and year earlier we had a thread talking about legalize a Lotus Elise (RHD) to US street. According to someone, one said the process took $5k and the car can only be driven for 12,000 miles a year. I don't know and I have no interest to verify that. <<so correct me if there are new policy>>
btw, I thought you people already took delivery of the Evo 7 ...wow at least a month ago when the photo first shown...

To answer 'sectorz', 'MarioEVO7' and 'awdrift':
- Yes the pics mean the cars are here in the US, actually less than an hour away from my house
Delivery time is expected for very last days of september / first week of october. I paid $30K flat for the car, but that was a very special 1st customer deal, only 1 other person paid that much I believe. The regular price was $36.5K for a long time, and now it's up at $39.9K.
- It's taking long to legalize only because of gov't paperwork. Paperwork takes time, that's all I know. And please don't ask for details because I don't know what's going on day to day, nor the details of the legalization process.
- The process takes a lot more than $5K to federalize the car (at least for the FIRST car). After that, it's about $4-$5K per car, yes.
I have never heard of the 12,000 mi limitation, and in my case I know I will be able to drive it as much as I can.
- The cars have been at the shop for almost 2 months now. I expected that since it is the 1st batch of cars being legalized. But we are very close to completion now, that's all I know and care for.
