Good going Celm I think you are going to like it.

JDMnut-

Count me in for a ride and membership in the Socal JDM Club. I have the R34 GTR intro song on CD somewhere here at the house. I'll try to rip it for you. The first time I went to Japan I was seaching for Skyline GTRs. I found them and WRX STi's and Evos and S13s. So I have always been a skyline fan. How do you like it?

Erik

gtr............it is not a big deal at all driving on the right side after you get used to it.

the fuel system can handle 450RWHP, the motor can handle 700RWHP, the transmission can handle about 600 RWHP if you shift easy.

erikgj............a ride is not a problem at all, I need a ride from you guy's EVO VII too The sound of having a Socal JDM club sounds very good, will have to start one. It will be cool if I can cruise with you and WRC4ever on the street of LA, we can shock a lot of people

How do I like my GTR. It is absolutely amazing to drive. it is a very good performance car straight from the factory. Can't even imagine how it would drive with aftermarket parts on it. I know the EVO VII is just as good of a super car as the GTR, in all the Japanese car video magazine, the EVO VII is just as fast on the track as a R34 GTR. I am considering getting an EVO VII as a 2nd car, maybe you guys can convince me

It takes a LOT to surprise me. The last car that made me happy was a R33 GTR with 500 RWHP.

I am sure modified EVO VII can surprise me though. They are truely awesome car.

What do you have for an ECU? What do you plan to upgrade?

An Evo will be faster out of the box, even on a straight line, because the Skyline is too heavy for just 280 bhp. But it has a lot more potential
My quote of 700RWHP is for my motor, I have the upgraded factory Nissan N1 spec motor that come with the Nur edition car, which is quite a bit stronger then the standard motor. I think the standard motor should safely support 550 RWHP reliably. Yeah if that guy blew his engine at 800 HP, he probably have the standard internals.

I agree, the EVO VII is quicker out of the box both in straight line and in turns. But as you said, the GTR have a lot more potential

Erik...........I just bought an Apexi PowerFC ECU, haven't install yet.

A few questions for you guys that have the imported EVO's:
1) Maintenance: how is the availability of the parts in the US? It'd suck to need something for the car and have to wait weeks/months to get whatever it is.. Obvioiusly all the maintenance is done privately, i don't think i'd be taking the car to my local dealership, haha.
2) SMOG: This is actually more for you socal guys, since i'm in the bay area. What do you guys do about passing the CARB inspections? Are you exempt from them or does the exporter take care of that stuff???
THanks! I'm toying around with this idea, for my next car.

I doubt he had standard internals, max you can get on standard is around 500bhp on the GTR, after that its time to spend some serious money

Spy2K:

1. E.I. is garanteeing 36 hrs for parts. That's not too bad. Yes maintenance is done privately. You take it to a mechanic you trust, and E.I. pays for the maintenance (1 yr standard warranty, 3 yr extended).

2. Importer needs to take care of smog and carb emissions. We customers won't worry about it. It's required by law to make the cars legal.
