I thought Ralliart UK no longer existed and was Xtreme Autos now? Didn't they have some sort of falling out with the ?

correct. at the time I bought my evo it was RalliArt UK. But Xtreme Autos still work with as they still sell the Evos, FTOs, Pajero Evos, etc...

Evolution Se7en

I don't have my car yet per se. It's here at the shop, it's mine, but I am not driving it yet cuz it's not legal yet.
I remember you yes, you were the tallest guy of the bunch, with black t-shirt, correct? I remember

I saw your pics, they're awesome !

Thanks

Me and my friend both had black shirts on; I was the shorter one I will probably be next in line to buy an Evo VII. I'm going for black though, but honestly, every color looks great on the Evo

Yes and the MPH is on the outer ring and Kph is on the inner ring Just like most US models. That was something I did not expect. I have never seen a EVO gauge set like that.

Even in England they put a somewhat tacky “MPH” sticker over the KPH and recalibrate the speedo.

I never understood how E.I. can sell Evo7 for 36.5k including shipping and all the mods, when the price for a RS-ii is already pretty close to that.

but if you guys are getting them, then E.I. must be really legit.

Congrats guys! Cars look dope!

Well maybe you should call E.I. and find out for yourself ?
E.I. is still making some money off of $36.5K, I believe.

Thanks for the comments

They've had 37k of yours for 6 months and still no car?! You better hope they can make them legal and soon. We may have our Evo VIII's here before you get your VII
It'd make me even more mad if the Evo VIII turns out to be better with more hp, 6-speed,etc. and cost thousands and thousands less. Oh well, as long as YOUR happy.

1st off, I've repeatedly said I paid $30K for the car and not $36.5K, because I was the 1st person to buy through E.I.

2nd off, I will get my Evo7 way before you will even see the 8 here. Have you seen any press release from yet? Any >OFFICIAL< word? Nothing at all. I highly doubt your Evo8 will be here by january of 2003, when it's already August and nothing has been officially said yet.

And to reply to your last sentence, I truly believe my Evo7 will have more HP, stiffer chassis. Your evo will be detuned for the US market, no ACD/AYC, and larger seats.
That's my opinion, may not be yours.

And your Evo8 may end up costing a lot more than what I paid for my J-spec evo 7.

To each his own.

A new LHD Evo7 RS-2 only costs $24k if you buy one car. If you buy more one, you can probably get a discount of some sort.

So selling the car at $36k is a pretty tidy profit

You have to factor in the cost to ship all the cars as well as the conversion costs, which is not cheap. Add to that a profit as well, because otherwise what's the point, and I think you come to a very reasonable price. I doubt EI is getting a huge discount on Evos since most dealers still pay invoice for vehicles from manufacturers... I can't see what makes them so much more special. Considering Motorex is selling brand new R34 Skylines for $90K this really isn't so bad... I personally think it's awesome.

If does bring the Evo 8 with the same JSpec settings for $30K, then that would be an awesome deal, but being that this is America, I'm sure it will be detuned, softer suspension, and I doubt there will be Recaros. That doesn't mean it won't have alternative items that may perform well. I'm sure the US Evo will be a great car overall, but I don't see $36.5K for a true Evo 7 as a ripoff if you can afford one either. To each his own.

Well, I have official word that the world launch (which includes the US) will be Jan. '03. In order to meet that timeline they really don't have to release specs and allow dealers to start ordering until about October. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you were ripped off. I just couldn't justify paying for a car and then not even seeing it for 7months-1 year. I'll just sit tight and keep saving my $ to make the deposit for my Evo VIII bigger until it DOES come out.
You are right it very well may be somewhat detuned but I doubt it. Mitsubishi is claiming lighter weight utilizing some carbon fiber...and for whatever it's worth....sources constantly say 280hp, 6-speed, etc. I like the Evo VII....but I'm thinking/hoping the VIII will EVOlve into the best Evo yet.
Pierre Gagnon said himself that he wants the Evo to come to the states as close to j-spec as possible...and if they couldn't then they wouldn't want to bring it at all.
Out of curiousity, when will you get your VII? What do they need to do to make it legal? Were there gaurantees made that it will reamin legal and ther won't be a problem with tags/title?
I also, would be leary of them fixing anything like a factory warranty would.
