Titanium exhaust is a real expensive way to shed wieght. The stock cat back on a Evo VII is 17 kg. If you have to go Ti make sure it has mandrel bent tubing. Since Ti is harder to tube bend than ss304 and mild steel many companies revert to welded up sections for bends instead.

The Fujitsubo RM-01A that I plan to buy is 70,000 yen in SS304 it's 178,000 yen in ti.

Ti = 6.7 kg
ss304 = 11.1

$908 price difference/9.7 lbs difference in weight

It's only $93 per pound.

Unless money is no object spend your grand somwhere else.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but how much does Eric @ Evolution motorsports charge for a Lancer and does he get older ones like the EVO VI or VII.

I was looking @ getting a Supra or RX-7 and dumping a ton of money into them or buying a WRX and dumping money into that. If the price is reasonable I would most likely save to get a EVO instead (Esp. a EvO 7 or 6).

Thanks in advance guys.

I would give them free to everybody. But then thats why my business never took off. Adam is the man you need to talk to at EI. I do not work for EI. I'm just a ME and EVO owner.

I thought you were getting tarmac spec??

I wouldnt cut the dampers to have the car sit lower. You would then need to alter the anti roll bar as well because it would bend and make the car roll more. In addition to that, you will reduce the length over which the damper will work and reduce it's efficiency over bumpy road surface.

Claude,

the guy at Ohlins has a new set of Grp N. gravel spec shock absorbers. He told me that they will reduce the length of the struts/shocks to make it tarmac spec, but with gravel/spec spring rates to not make the ride extremely harsh. He said the tarmac-spec set is designed for use on slick tires, and would not fit my application properly. He told me they do this many times, with no problems.

Is that still a problem?

Point taken. Any chance you know why they are selling this batch of EVO's sop cheap as opposed to the regularily advertised price of 45,000 (that is part of the reason I wasn't going to entertain getting one until 3 years from now).

Did you guys have to put a deposit down to order one or pay in full?

Only way I would even think about ordering one is if they had like a COD type plan where you pay on delivery

The car better be in front of me before I decide to give up $36,500 to total strangers

Anyone know their payment options?

I guess there wasn't enough demand at 45K, so the price was reduced to 36.5K to increase sales. Law of supply and demand

You pay in full or you don't get the car. There is no such thing as COD-type plan. And why do you need to see the car in front of you to pay the 36.5K? Aren't you believing anything you've been seeing from my pictures 2 days ago? Obviously Adam is not a total stranger, and obviously the cars are here. I paid my price in February, and never thought for a second I wouldn't see my car and/or it was a scam.

As far as payment option, you are on your own. You can do financing through your bank, or whatever else. E.I. does not do financing for you.

PS: I don't work for E.I. I am just the 1st customer there, and a happy one too (happier since monday than before !)

Cheers

My money went directly to (at the time) Ralliart UK.

E.I. never sees your money, that's the good part. I dealt with RalliArt UK directly, after making sure E.I. was real (i.e., RalliArtUK knew about E.I.).

I would not have felt comfortable dealing with E.I. at the time at all, but I think one can trust RalliArtUK, right?

EI deals directly with RalliArt UK and they have a strong relationship, not one of those things where one company claims to work with the other and it's not true. The other thing is Adam is a really nice guys and has his whole heart in this thing. He was just as excited to see the cars as everyone else this past Monday.

Hopefully this shows the effort behind getting the cars here and legal... this is definately the real deal.
