One sweet car
Shipping only costs $1k or so and adding in $5k conversion(pretty generous), you have about $5-6k profit for a car, which is pretty decent.
I think that $37k for an Evo7 is ok if Mitsu is not going to bring over the Evo8 for less than $30k. But if you have the cash, hey, who's to tell you how to spend it.
Yes, when do the Evo7s become street legal? I'm curious as well.

The work to make our Evos legal has already started early last week. I do not have a definite date yet, but speaking with the relevant parties, it should not take more than a month or so to fully make it legal. I will most likely know more within the next week or 2.
I have a written guarantee from E.I. about legal issues and such, so don't worry about it broeli. I've already taken care of that before I even paid for the car.
Evolution Se7en, as I said in my earlier post, I got it for 30K because I was the 1st guy to buy the car through EI. You will not be able to get this deal anymore.
I lucked out on that one.

The US Evo VIII may very well come with all you described, but it may not be without premium itself. Look at the 350z. At first all you heard about was its awesome performance and under $30k. Well really look at the true performance options and now you are at $35k. I'm willing to bet the EVO will be the same, and dealer options ALWAYS cost more than aftermarket.
The EVO VII from EI is more appealing to me for several reasons.
1) more goodies at better value than what Mitsubishi will offer here. I highly doubt you will see ACD/AYC. The reason is not from price of selling cars but of price to train every Mitsubishi mechanic how to service them. Can't see them training everyone for only 5000 cars.
2) only a few EVO VII's. Right now there are only ~40 EVO VII's here or on order from EI.
3) I will have my car in early october (and the first in Texas).
4) Anything made for an EVO VIII will also work on an EVO VII. IF they make some cool carbon panels, I can still get them.
5) No dealer markup. EI right now is selling for a good price. The price of an EVO in the UK cost more (if you convert to US dollars).
I've got a question.......Ok....when u guys say you have to make the car legal.......what exactly do u mean by that?? What do they have to change (please be specific and get into detail) Thanks!! Oh yeah.....im really happy for you guys.....consider yourselves some of the luckiest men on earth!!

Dem1K, I don't know exactly what needs to be modded to make it legal, but you have a few things like putting the vapor nozzle stuff in the gas tank outlet to meet US regs (Europe doesn't have that), and tune the engine to meet US regs and EPA standards.
I know there is probably an extensive list the Register Importer has to go through to meet US laws, I just do not have the info.

how much did you pay for that evo?
RTFT !!!
Hey, great choice WRC. I was going to do the same thing but was sceptic about putting down that amount of money for the car without actually receiving it for several months. I mean the most I have ordered without seeing the merchandise physically, is shoes online
. Quite a price difference there
But anyhow you took the bold step and now you are reaping the rewards for doing so. Oh, yeh I know I probably offended you with my tone several posts ago...but that was my scepticism (if there is such a word
) speaking. Ok enjoy this marvelous ride.

Hey guys congrats on the new Vll's, they look awesome. Looks exactly like they came straight out of GT3. Post some numbers on the cars later, after you break them in of course.
Again congrats and enjoy.
P.S. Just don't be like this guy.
