The ball bearing center section is just pricey. Period. Its not just stock frame turbos. Big frame turbos have the same price disparity between journal bearing and ball bearing.
As for supporting mods. 1200 injectors (even if you decide to do E85 later those injectors will be fine), Walbro 255 (Honestly thats a no brainer) a tune and you are golden. Upgraded full rail for most of us is a waste of time unless you just want something that looks cool.

you will know it for sure when you driven the car for over 6 years, you can tell when its under full boost from the turbo noise and smoothness of the power, i believe it has shaft play, i am choosing bbk full but the money not there yet LOL
+1 check or have someone check to see if you have a boost leak before going out and getting a new turbo, especially seeing a boost leak runs between $5-$50 and a new turbo will run around $600-$2500 w/o install
I Have Boost Gauge And The Pressure Dead On From Years Ago. Couple Years Ago I Had the Rubber Hose Rodded Out And Loosing Pressure Hence Leak Under Pressure Since Then All Piping Are Aluminum With T-Clamps But Thank You For Trying To Help Me Out :-)

Had it. Not impressed for the cost difference between that and the BBK full. I've had both and for the money between the two the BBK full JB or BB would be worth it more.
Not mention HKS officially packed up and went back to Japan so support for any problems may be difficult (At least they were supposed).
