Headlight issue

I have a weird headlight issue. I figured if anyone would know a salution it would be the wonderful minds on EVOm.

My right hid headlight from time to time starts to flicker then turns off. then If I shut the lights off and back on again, they come back on. If I hit a bump in the road or make a sharp turn it does it again...

I took the headlight off and apart to see if any connection were loose. I couldn't find anything. It's a stock Evo8 hid headlight.

Any info on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Your ballast is the issue its probably on its way out on that particular side. If that's the issue with the bulb which is rarely the case. But definitely swap out the ballast with the opposite headlight to see if it flickers on the opposite side if it does then you ruled out the problem to be the ballast not the bulb.

If it doesn't occur even though you switched ballasts from opposite sides of each other then check the wiring.

I concur. It's probably the balast.

They are Horribly expensive new. over $600 list (you can find them for $515-525 from the various online vendors). BTW, the balasts are side specific.

I have an OEM one in good condition I can sell you. It's a right (passenger) side as well. PM me if you are interested.

I thought they were side specific too, but they aren't. i seen a few used ones on eBay in the $150 range.

I try to swap and see if that's the issue
