ACD motor issue and possible wheel bearing
ACD motor issue and possible wheel bearing
so i got the car about a year ago and always heard what sounded to me like a rubbing noise when i make a hard left or right turn (happens mainly when i turn left) almost like the wheel scraping the fender or something plastic. so i take it to mits about two months ago they finally figured out that the ACD motor went so they replaced it thank god i had an extended warranty about 2500 dollar job as you guys probably know. now im getting that same noise again after about two months. any ideas? faulty part or is something causing these motors to go bad?
also another thing i know its gunna sound a little nuts but i have nothing else to compare it to when im driving at about 50+ i get this noise from the rear end almost like a UFO spinning from a bad sci fi movie (i know it sounds nuts but thats all i can think of) are those my wheel bearings? its a high pitched whirling definitely going around each spin of the tire

In all My experiences with wheel bearings on my evo viii, I have only heard a dull groaning when my wheel bearing failed (I've replaced all 4)..
..high pitch whine sounds like it could be your tc going bad mate....
.does it get louder as you accelerate to the point where it sounds like a full blown siren?

Get the car up on a hoist so the wheels are unloaded and get someone to drive the car and listen to each bearing underneath.
Otherwise, try driving different road surfaces and try and listen to the noise. If the tone changes then it's tyres...if it remains the same then it's probably a bearing.

switch ignition on and hold the accelerator to the floor...you will hear the pump activate...The noise coming from the pump should change (as the system builds up pressure) the shut off and all will be fine. If the tone doesn't change and then all 3 ACD lights activate there is a fault.
