all 3 ACD lights on at the same time

Hey guys, I have a 2006 Evo RS and recently sometimes I'll look down and all three of the ACD lights (tarmac, gravel, snow) will be on at the same time. When I drive the car the next time it will be fine but usually, but not always, at some point they will all come on again. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? I haven't noticed any new noises or problems; just that all three lights are on.

is your abs light on? if so its a wheel speed sensor... if not... it could be your pump is simply low on oil... the oil went bad... or your pump/accumulator are old...

Most likely low on fluid. Check the ACD reservoir in the front right of the engine bay. It should be a pinkish fluid. If it is low, your ACD pump is probably leaking and needs to be rebuilt or get a new one. If you had recent transmission/diff work done, they could have just not filled it up all the way. I've seen people fill it without realizing that the pump will pull fluid into the systems so you have to top it off after.

Or, as joseph143 said, if your ABS light is on as well, then you have a failing wheel speed sensor or the abs splines/teeth on the axel are damaged/dirty. Since the car would be unable to know all 4 wheel speeds (yes, they can vary when you are turning) then it disables the ACD. You can check the splines by looking at the wheel/hub area from behind the wheel under the car. It looks like a sprocket. These can be damaged by curbing your car or they could just be dirty and the sensor can't read them.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have owned it from new and it only has 27K miles. There has been no transmission work done. I checked the ACD fluid resevoiur and it is already at max level. I have no ABS light (it's an RS so there is no ABS).

I don't know about the ACD pump. If it is going bad would it light up all three lights? Or would this be more of an electrical problem?

I asked the dealer about it when I had them replace a wheel bearing (under warranty) and they didn't have any ideas except checking for codes. I checked at Advance Auto and there were no codes.

The acd uses inputs from wheel speed sensors i believe... So my question still remains...

Also the oil goes bad over time and with so few miles it could have easily developed an air bubble... Flush the system at least... Just make sure you use an sp3 equivalent fluid... I run royal purple atf...

Also the scanners at advanced auto can usually only read engine and maybe trans codes... The dealer can pull acd codes...

Hell one of the codes that can cause this is deformed tyre... So are your tires in good health?

Mine does it too... Sometimes I'll switch off the car then back on and it goes away.

Yeah this is one of the annoying drawbacks to ACD. All 3 light up for me randomly sometimes, I found it was especially doing it while I was low on fluid, replaced the fluid and haven't had much issues with it since. Start from the cheapest route rather than just going out getting a new pump.

I've got brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sports so it isn't the tires. Actually, it was doing it worse before the new tires but it has started doing it more with the new ones now too.

I really just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced the same issue and if a resolution was found. It sounds like it is a somewhat common problem.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Unfortunaly , when the 3 ACD lights shows up one time . It's a bad sign . You may be fine a few weeks/months again , but be sure when you will see them couple time again, they will stay there .

Does it only happen when it's hot outside? That's because the pump is starting to go and when the fluid gets really thin the clearances aren't as tight as they used to be due to corrosion.

Any issues with the ACD would cause all 3 lights to light up and mitsubishi is the only place you'll be able to have the codes pulled. Since your the original owner you should have warranty left and the pump should be replaced under warranty. My acd pump also went with roughly 25k miles on the car.
