Front/Back windshield question.

My front windshield is cracked and i know its going to need to be replaced, i own a 2006 mitsubishi evo MR edition and my main question is would the front windshield of a base model lancer fit on my evo MR???

Also just wondering if the same applies to the trunk and back windshield? thanks for all the info ahead of time.

I have an 06 9 and when I had my windshield replaced I selected 2003 Lancer. 2002-2003 base lancers are the same.

thanks for the tip, i just know with the deductible from my insurance it wouldn't be worth it to even put in a claim, i'm sure i'd be better off buying the year lancer you suggested from a junkyard and having an auto glass company put it in. thanks again.

Back window I suspect not since the base lancers don't have the rear wiper.

yeah i know theres no rear windshield wiper on those base model lancers, thats why if they were cheap or buying the front and rear was fairly cheap and fit i'd buy the rear windshield as well in order to delete the rear windshield wiper. I'm pretty sure the trunk off a lancer would fit as well but definetly looking to see some others chime in, thanks again

Yes I think the trunk is compatible from 02-03 lancers. Probably not 04-06 as they changed the trunk design somewhat.

I bought an 03 Lancer trunk from a junkyard over a year ago and the fitment is perfect for the Evo 9. I wanted to have one with a wing and one without in case I felt like changing it up without going through a major hassle.

Evo windshield is slightly lighter/thinner from what I remember (and more expensive, around 700 bucks if I remember right). The lancer rear glass is used by guys who want to save weight and delete the rear wiper.

I left the hole... Used a plug and saved more weight...

Also make sure you get the tinted window... If youre gonna downgrade to lancer glass... Upgrade upgrade to the good one... I cant speak for weights and the trunk sounds fishy as hell... But if its true i would love to see about getting one...

I was pretty skeptical about the trunk as well. I have a friend that was a parts guy at the body shop that I work at. He called all over the country to different junk yards to find one. The hard part is finding one for a good price that isn't destroyed. I got lucky and found one that was in great condition but it had the short lancer wing on it so I removed it. I wanted it to look nice so I had the holes welded and the lock cylinder removed so the trunk is clean with no badges. Looks really nice without that stupid lock cylinder.
