This is why they are best for a stock or mildly modded motor.


Don't underestimate how much they will move the power band to the right while basically losing nothing down low. I fitted TOMEI 260's and picked up an extra useable 1500 rpm, and it drives like stock.

If the O.P just wants an all top end motor that is operating above the range the engine designed to work best in, and a rumpity idle, then yes they are probably no good.

 

No such thing as a best cam, best cam for your setup would be more accurate. What are your goals?

 

Do a forum search in the dyno results sub-forum for brands you are looking into buying and find similar set-ups to get an idea as to gains.

IIRC the GSC S2 generally had the best results when a lot of people started switching to them back in 2010.
