im new to tuning, but dont you need to have your scaling and latencies set up regardless whether you are tuning open or closed loop?

what the OP is stating sounds like a front o2 sensor or bad maf/ wiring, since he had to fix some maf wiring thats where my money is, perhaps a ground is damaged or one of the solder points arent right or shorting to something? i mean im just throwing shots in the dark, but if it were the scaling and latencies, shouldnt it have the issue whether its in closed or open loop?
When I get home (back to reading) i'm going to try my buddies MAF and if that doesn't fix it check all the MAF wiring voltages and grounds. I already replaced the o2 sensor so I kind of narrowed it down. If i go speed density this might remove the problem too. Any thoughts on that??

ill have an opinion on SD in a couple days, i literally just got done converting it, now im just waiting on my tune to get it running and drive it, pretty stoked though, i hear nothing but good things as long as you stay in the same elevation. when you said you had to fix the maf wiring, my guess is that wasnt the ONLY place that needed fixing.

since i was spending alot of time under the hood lately, ive noticed that alot of the looming on my wiring harness looks a little sketchy, im debating on de-looming all of it and just making sure all wires are in good condition. then might as well do a wire tuck while im at it.

keep us informed on what happens im curious of what the result will be. i had some rich idle after warm up when the car entered closed loop, i changed my o2 sensor twice and still no fix, so we kept in in open loop full time. Tom suspected the maf may be the culprit. well now the MAF is out of the picture, so we will see what the out come is i guess for me aswell lol

Wow Anthony I never realized all this happened to you. I had talked to you a while back when I had my Evo. I live in Hanover and had a red 05 for a while. I have since sold it but looking at possibly getting another toy.

I really cant believe you let him tune the car again either.

Glad you're okay! Have you gotten another tune on the car?

I talked to a friend I had not seen in a while who follows the car scene and he had some more horror stories from that "shop".
