Oil on Oil Pan Normal? Pic Inside

So is some oil on the oil pan normal?

When the car sits in the garage there is no oil left on the floor. I let it run for 10 minutes and no oil, I let it sit over night and there's no oil. But when I look under the car I see this:

Thanks for any input.

That little amount is nothing to worry about. Check to make sure the drain plug is tight enough and leave it be. If you don't see anything on the floor there is nothing to be concerned about.

Yup that just looks like the drain bolt hasn't sealed good enough. Using a new crush washer every time?

Did you buy it from a dealer or private party? I'm from NWI also!

There's a plate on the underside of the pan intended to take a jack for engine support. This plate has a gap between it and the pan proper. I was under my car the other day and I saw rust. The plate captures water. People have had the pan rust out. So, I was busy putting a rust proofing oil on the pan.

In 15 years I've never replaced an oil pan crush washer (not saying its not needed)

I always use a new one because the parts guy at a dealership gave me 2 bags of them. He probably wanted the D.

It was working but I deleted it on photobucket after I got an answer from some members on here. Re-uploaded.

In my experience with synthetic oil is that if any seal on the motor is weak, old, not properly tightened, etc.. it will seep out.
