so ive owned my evo for just over a month now and when a do few pulls i get this weird smell in the cabin. it doesnt smell like a clutch or tires. only happens when im boosting it seems like...any ideas??? and only mods are intake, 3in down pipe and 3in catback

 

exhaust leak in the engine bay? just a hunch

 

Does this smell, in a way, smell like coolant/oil? I had the same exact issue you had, i assumed it was headgasket(no) then blowby(no) make losing coolant(no) turned out after cleaning my engine bay with simple green smell was gone. Guess i had some oil that was never cleaned up when i was workingin there. Start small.

 

+1 to this. Could just be some oil.

 

alright ill try going through the motor with some cleaner and clean what i can reach and see if that helps but it only happens when i put my foot in it, doesnt smell when i drive normal

 

hence my suggestion, what does it smell like though? does it smell like exhaust gasses, gas?, burning of something?

 

--- my guess is you know what exhaust smells like, if the smell is sweet, like candy--its coolant. It will make sense if it is.

 

yeah i know what that all smells like, ive just never smelled something like this before, its like a hot smell i just cant put my finger on what it is

This is likely your issue. Check your exhaust manifold studs, turbo bolts and o2 housing bolts.

Please explain how a video will help identify a smell.
