Transmission issue?

This morning on my way to work, I gave my car a nice rev on an on ramp. The car was still a bit cold, but in 3rd gear at around 5k rpm my car felt like it was losing power to the engine and the car almost felt like it was stalling. The engine seemed to put no power to the wheels for a second and then cut back in and then repeated. My boost gauge said I still had boost. I have no idea what it could be. Any idea what I should look for? I'm hoping its not a tranny issue as my 2nd and 3rd gear synchros have been having trouble recently

From what I'm reading, it could be the fuel getting cut off because the car was still cold. Does this sound about right?

Could also be a boost leak. Have an AFR gauge?

And yes, the cars can be quite boggy at low temps... was it still at the bottom of the temp gauge?

Nope no afr, just a boost gauge and an oil temp gauge I haven't gotten around to installing yet . I couldn't reproduce the problem. I tried slowing down, downshifting into 3rd and then gasing it to 5-6k again and it didn't seem to happen. How would a boost leak cause a loss of power to the wheels briefly and abruptly? In every gear the car seemed to run fine and neutral sounds and feels normal

It wasn't quite at the bottom, it was probably around 2/3 of the way to normal operating temps, but of course, the oil was probably still cold

Because the sudden added pressure can blow a line or push a seal. Trust me I had it happen earlier this week!

Have you pushed it full boost?

Probably not a boost leak then if you can't reproduce. You should get on installing that AFR though because it may be a fuel related issue.

It spiked at 19 psi and then was steady at 16, but yeah I tried to reproduce it without any luck. If the fuel was cold and more dense couldn't it have no flowed quickly enough to give the car sufficient power for its boost and therefore cut boost? But I have no idea. Well, I'll leave it for now and take a closer look if it happens again. Maybe I should just let my car warm up a bit longer

Thats a start Generally the bogs only happen when its super cold for me. I almost bog out if I try and go anywhere when its super cold. Generally only happens when its cold out like 40 or below.

Hopefully someone can give you more advice!
