Strange starter problem. Help me :)

Car is 2005 Evo 8

Ok so im having an issue right now with my starter not wanting to start my car. I just replaced it with a new one. I can hear it come out but it does not spin. So I know its getting power but for some reason not wanting to spin. My battery has been tested and it is fine. However about a month back I was getting ALOT of corrosion on the positive battery terminal but it has stopped.

Would a possible problem be that the wire coming from the positive terminal on the battery corroded so much now there is an open/resistance somewhere going to the starter?

Any help would be appreciated

Its the ignition switch. Cheap & easily replaced.

Read through these, if similar, that is your solution.

make sure you have the positive, the ground and the signal wires all hooked up. the signal wire can easily slip off the little clip on the starter

Sounds like ignition switch is my next choice then after reading through some threads. I took the steering column cover off and when I would turn the key I would watch the switch and would see like a spark light of some sort right at the switch. Ill post back if that was the problem.

Thanks everyone

Yes, check all the above and also make sure the starter bolts are secure. I had a problem before when all it took was to tighten down on one starter bolt. Good luck!

Wow isn't that something? At least your car is now covered for quite a while in the starting dept.
