Stuck on what to do next
Depends if you have a ix as well. The mivec tuned accordingly can make a red spool 30psi by 4k (e85) Thats fast. An evo viii can hardly spool the wittle 9.8 turbo that fast on pump gas.
If your heart is set on 500-600 then build the motor. But dont do it unless you plan on making that sort of power. Its useless if you dont. Also on the non BB turbo's its not a big deal at all. I dont know of too many locals here in MN running BB stock frame turbos. Precision's yes. But not stock frame.
I had an EF3 for 8k miles or so and never had a problem. Had the EF2.5 now for 4 or 5k miles on my VIII and love it!! I even sold my Red to go back to a stock ix turbo on my IX because I love a quick spooling car vs a high hp car. You'll learn that over time.

It is an evo ix to clear that up.After a lot of thinking and reading multiple threads on different builds I have decided to go with an ef2.5 on the stock block for now with a tune for e85 and a tune for 91oct. The turbo is a great street turbo and I can still be safe with it and in the future build the block when I can do it right and not go cheap because of a budget
