OEM Alternator?

Is it possible to still get a non-remanufactured alternator from Mitsubishi? I have not contacted a dealer directly. I ordered one off Lancershop and it was a OEM Remanufactured part. I just expected a $350 part to be brand new. I also know that a remanufactured one, if done right would be worth that amount or close to a new one. Just wondering.

Not possible. Even if you order by new part number it will get filled with a reman unit.

A reman Mitsubishi unit is every bit as good as a new Mitsubishi unit. Everything is replaced in them.

Never ever buy a new or reman aftermarket alternator for Mitsubishis. They are absolutely horrendous quality no matter what brand.

Plus in many cases the Mitsu ones are cheaper anyway.
If you paid $350 you're getting F'd in the A... pretty typical for Lancer shop. I'd return it.
List price from the dealer is $300, and many will sell for less than list price. You can get one from Mentor Mitsubishi $230, no core.

Im gonna have to agree, when I ordered mine from lancer shop it sure seemed like it was going to be a new unit, especially with the price tag!

I installed it two months ago and it is working well!

Lancershop always seems to have a good 10-20% bump in prices over everywhere else I have seen. MAP on the other hand in my experience has rocked. http://www.maperformance.com/oem-alternator-evo.html 264.99 there, they do not specify if its new or reman, but I would assume reman. You can always ask them.

I'm ok with the bump in price from Lancershop and can't really complain when it arrives two days later at my doorstep.

That's all that matters; I couldn't justify a $120 price bump though.

Does the oem Evo alternator crossover to another Mitsubishi part number say the outlander or another model?

Nope, Evo only in US. There are probably others that would work, just wouldn't be correct (amperage difference, different pulley grooves for sure, etc). Identical parts though, just Evo.

I'm looking for a bad alternator so I can have a local alternator shop reman it and see if he can up the amperage.

I have one for sale on eBay for dirt cheap right now. Just type Evo 9 IX alternator into the search on eBay. It's perfect working order. I just upgraded to a 180 amp one instead. My eBay feedback is 100% too btw.
