Hey guys, I am trying to sell my stock shortblock 4g63 for an Evo 8 2003 model. I spun a rod bearing in it and the worst damage is just the bearing itself. How much could I ask for it with all of the components in it? 70k is how many miles are on the block and my dad borrowed the car and drove it on an oil pan leak thats what caused the rod bearing to wear fast. All feedback would be greatly appreciated, sorry for no pics...im just trying to get a ballpark figure.

 

ive seen bare blocks sell for $600 so idk maybe $800-1000 complete?

 

Check to see what the big engine builders are charging for cores. That should get you in the ballpark

 

If you're going to be buying a built engine they are going to want that core back anyways so I'm not sure why you would sell it. Unless you're thinking you could get more on the open market for the block then the core value you would get back from the engine builder (STM or Buschur or MAP). Just trying to figure out what you are trying to accomplish here is all.

 

I've already bought and dropped in a 2.4l 4G64 So all I'm trying to do is either sell or trade this for some upgrades such as a trade towards a good turbo system such a an fp black, or maybe even an exhaust...or cash of course! If anyone has a good offer I'll take it. I'm gonna try to take some pics tonight or tomorrow and throw them on here so you guys have a better idea of it all.

 

I sold my complete and good running short block for 1400 so I'd say 800-1000 and thats pretty good
