How stiff is your Evo?

This made me chuckle after jacking up my front wheel and reminded me why I love this car so much.

I believe he's talking about jacking up the front wheel and the whole side lifting with it.

I've never tired jacking up a front wheel and had a whole side of the car lift up?

Yeah not all cars do that... Most will flex and just raise the wheel you jack up. Same goes for coming into certain store entrances where the rear tire gets off the ground

My immediately previous car was 2G DSM with a sunroof. I've had the Evo for several years and still haven't gotten over the change.

Besides being able to change both tires on one side without moving the jack, there's the issue of actually being able to use more rear bar to keep the inside front down. More rear bar on the old car just added snap-spinning to all of the other fun things that it did.

Is that evo stock suspension? I know most cars can do that but are usually on aftermarket suspension like coils and sway bars.

So basically what you're saying is I really don't have to worry about one of my jack stands failing?

Why did I spend almost $200 on my jack stands

No, you still need jackstands. You just don't need all four.

Well yeah But I'm still so nervous that I use a jack + 2 stands when changing my wheels...

Get one of the Chinese prison-labor "racing" jacks from Harbor Fright. Then your urge to slip a jack-stand under the car will be completely justified.

My '06 IX has always done that. If you jack up the car on the "front side" high enough the back wheel will always come up also. Both of my previous VIII's did this also. No other car I have ever worked on or owned does this. It's cool with me, just shows how well built the unibody and subframe construction really is on the CT9A.

Coils/sway bars has nothing to do with stiff chassis.

I had the exact same thought! Everyone at auto-x knows when I'm changing my front camber. SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK
