Quarter master, 8 leg, gear drive, twin noise

I got this clutch 3 or so years ago now... its great once it gets going but it makes a terrible barking sound, like clubbing a damn seal or running over a dog, on engagement... when i first got it it was fresh on the market as i understand it and i talked to a few members and they said theirs was loud as well... but since i've never heard anyone complain about it and i wonder if its an issue with mine alone or are they all this noisy... seriously i don't drive my car around crowded places and wont take it to car shows its that bad...

the twin disc chatter is fine, i used to have a exedy twin carbon and this is a whisper by comparison to that. Its mainly when engaging first, never reverse, and occasionally in second if i'm slow...

anyone with actual experience with this clutch please weigh in...

the vibrations are from the solid mounts and they cause the abs light on occasions... i was parked with the brake up which is why its so quiet...

How many miles are on it? I'd say it needs a rebuild

it has done it since 300-400 miles after installation... during the full build i recently finished my machinist inspected it and machined the flywheel, the idler plates were said to be true and were left alone... in total it might have 10k on it and the discs are far from being worn... it was reinstalled 500miles ago and has not seen any racing since... only been launched twice long after it started.

i'm not saying it doesn't need a rebuild... i'm asking because i'm considering it. to hopefully fix a defect... my question is do others who have the clutch experience the same issues so that i know whether or not its worth it... if i'm gonna waste the money to rebuild this one and still have the noise i might as well dump it for a different clutch...

to clarify i am only considering rebuilding it to get rid of the noise... like i said the clutch itself is good...

I'm glad it's not a defective issue. I really want to get this clutch next!

It's annoying and engagement is pretty harsh. I hear the 2g slave mod helps engagement but the noise never really goes away.

I heard that too. Makes the 8-leg more appealing.

Mine does the same noise. Plus mine does a huge chatter noise when I decelerate. I just send mine for a Rebuilt so it does it even new.

How does it help? I dont have any issies with engagment... Other then its a light switch... But i manage the pedal well enough that i can slip the clutch on the street... At the track not a chance... So i built and indestructable trans and tcase... But it still scares me so i just dont drag race it
