Brake cooling fins and ducts? There are a handful of kits out there for Evo's already.

Yep. AMS used to make a plug and play kit. JID sells/sold nozzles and you can buy the hose yourself today for the fronts. Rears AFAIK I don't think there was a complete plug and play kit.

Did you actually try to click on that link yourself? Did you even look at the first link I posted? C'mon man. AMS no longer makes the brake duct cooling kit nor do i ever recall them doing a fan duct cooling kit.

It's still on the AMS site if you go there yourself. I just went there to verify and his link is addressed properly. I've never seen the fans but don't know why they're necessary other than high flow at low speeds. Perhaps the carbon ceramic brakes those are meant for require it. I don't see that being too big of a concern on a track duty car. If the fans are a huge sticking point for you then buy them from Stillen and add them to someone else's kit.

There is still a ton of aftermarket support for our cars. Hell, there's still a ton of aftermarket support for DSMs.

My local track has lots of slow speed corners and only one long straight. Local car with less power and weight with the ams duct kit wasn't cutting it. Neither did stepping up to some st-40 stoptechs. I will have more power and weight so fans are what i'm looking at.
I guess there is no plug and play fan duct kit? Buying two kits and peicing it together will cost more time and money.

They are just bilge blower fans, nothing special.

They are cheap, and once you decide you don't want them anymore you can sell them to kids with Hondas to "supercharge" their intakes.

How was it "not cutting it" what was his problem? Were the rotors getting too hot? Green fade on the pads? Was his fluid boiling?

My basic feeling is that if the car is moving so slow that you need a fan to cool the brakes, then there's not enough heat going into them to need the airflow.

If a ducting solution alone is not working to keep the brake rotors cool, then do like the supercar V8 and WRX guys do at higher speeds, mist water into the cooling ducts or (as some do), directly into the center of the rotor.

The reason the kit for the GTR was made, was because the GTR has inadequate brake cooling for track usage, and not enough space to put in proper sized cooling ducts with the factory undertray. As GTR owners are not fans of cutting factory items on their $100K toy, they look for overly complex solutions like this $450 pair of $40 bildge fans, and associated hardware.

OMG, I was at SEMA when Mark Kibort (probably misspelled his last name) back in 99 was trying to sell his E-RAM out of a duffel bag to large manufacturers...

The guys at NOS were trying not to laugh in his face.... but they did a hell of alot of it behind his back.
