Wiper nozzle problems
Wiper nozzle problems
Hi Guys,
My hood didn't come with wiper nozzles, so I bought some from local parts store and installed them.
I hooked them up, but they just squirt a thick stream, and it barely makes it to the windshield (not enough pressure).
Now I did notice from this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...r-nozzles.html
that there are little restrictors on the hose. I tried clamping down the tubing that I used to make a "restriction" but still the same weak spray.
Does anybody know the proper hose ID/OD and have pictures of these restrictors?

One of the problems is that I cannot use the stock squirters because I've already drilled the holes for the new ones, which are larger.
Let me know your suggestions!

Pressure is inversely proportional to flow, but this is true for every point separately. (Ever put your thumb across most of the end of a hose to make a more powerful spray? That works. But squeezing the hose a few inches back from the end won't do anything useful.)
The solution to your problem is not a restrictor in the hose. You need nozzles with smaller holes.

I replaced my hood with a carbon fiber one a couple months back and ran into the same exact problem you are having. I was using these blue nozzles because they look nice but it barely squirted on the drivers side at all and the passenger side squirted out like a garden hose. I switched back to the stock lines and put in some "help" part #47137 universal nozzles and it works perfect now. The last poster is right because the new ones have very small holes and the blue ones had huge ones for the fluid to pass through. I feel like maybe the stock lines have a restrictor in them too but I could be wrong.

So you are using these Dorman nozzles now? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Dorman-47137-Windshield-Washer-Nozzle-Kit-/131060315323?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e83cdb4bb
These look pretty much the same to the ones that I have now, and compared to other OEM squirters, the holes are HUGE.

Yep, I tried to squeeze the hose closest to the nozzle, I knew it's most likely not going to help.
That's exactly what I am using minus all the other crap that comes in the "kit". I reused the stock fluid lines and plugged them directly into the new nozzle. Then just used the plastic "nut" that comes in the kit to screw it to the hood. They have adjustable nozzle heads so you can aim them where you want the juice to squirt out at. These have worked just as good as the oem ones for sure.
