Open Rant to Mitsu!
Open Rant to Mitsu!
Just got my 5k service on the EVO, from one of the larger dealers on the west coast. I would ***** about the cost of an oil change ($70) because its only 39.99 on an infiniti but I wont I see it as fair because it is mobile 1 and I chose to pay it because I went to the dealer.
But for god sake have your dealers treat me like I am some one who paid 31g's for a car and 70 bones for an oil change. I realize most Mitsu buyers are first timers or people with crap credit scores but I am not, and this kind of behavior is what stops some people from coming back.
So...
On to the offending issues, No car wash are you kidding me? just drive it round back run it through the machine and wash the windows, make this a policy that your dealers follow.
Dont nikcle and dime me if the damn parking brake is loose fix it and pick up the bill under warrenty.
These are the kind of things that people comming from traditionally nicer cars are use to and expect to get if you ever want to compete with Toyota and Honda (not that those should be assperations, but lets face it
should be so lucky.) these things need to be done. Make the dealer experience better, regein in jerks w/20K mark ups quit the bait and switch stuff and treat even people with bad credit like they are buying a luxury car and you'll sell more cars and make more money.

good points...mitsu dosnt really care about their customers since there not big $ sales but more volume....if one person dosnt like the service and leaves there will be another person willing to put up with it...dealerships like mercedes benz will take care of their customers because the # customers are less but there spending more money...if mitsu took care of every person they would do much better...
i was at the dealership yesterday and the salesman was like "ill be right with u..im with another customer right now but he aint buyin nothin"...they guy was askin questions and the kid was just like yea yea ok well think about it and come back..like he was 2nd class....the guy was lookin at a regular lancer and i was lookin at the evo so he ditched him to talk 2 me

the dealership by me gives free oil changes for 4years, except for on the Evo...BUT, the guy said if u provide the dealership w/ the Mobil1 that they will do it for free. u can get mobil1 cheap at KMart and wholesale places.
I have an Acura, obviously lol, and the service is great. an oil change costs $28.10. and that includes tax, oil, replaced washer, and labor. i cant believe $70 for an oil change!?
*edit* i get free carwash too, although they dry it like *** lol. but besides the winter i hand wash my car, takes me like 2hours to wash/wax and dry my rsx.

I know it can be done cheaper, your missing the point. What Im saying is if I am going to get this kind of treatment at the dealer I will just go to EZ-lube and have them do the change w/mobile 1 for 49.95 at least there I get the windows washed.
Its not a cheap car oil changes cost much more then they do on a G35 but at the infiniti dealer you get a car wash and you get things taken care of on the car. If Mitsu doesnt wake up and do this I'll go else where as will others costing them losts of money long term, I want to go to the dealer its five blocks away but not for 70$ oil changes and 50 cent customer care.
They need to realize they bought in a whole new realm of customers with this car and we expect to be treated differently, or we will go back to the BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, MB, hell even toyotas of the world.

The best way to affect a Mitsubishi dealer or dealers is to stop taking it to them for service. Money always talks and if everyone decided not to bring their Evos to a Mitsubishi dealer for service, how much money would they lose? Realistically not much of a hit to them.
Bottom line, if you are going to buy the oil, filter, then why not just go all the way and change the oil yourself? If not, take it to an independent mechanic recommended by folks. That's what I plan to do. All service is going to be performed by my own mechanic because I don't trust the dealers to begin with. And here is the kicker, Lexus, BMW, MB are NOT any different with regards to the quality of service. They will cheat you just as much. I have friends in the business that tell me horror stories about how Lexus dealers have pretended to replace a part by cleaning the part up and then showing the customer someone else's used/broken part to be thrown away claiming that they had to replace the part and then charge them for it. SCANDALOUS!!!!
Take it to a private mechanic you trust, they have more incentive to do you right. Then, only for warranty work bring it to the Mitsu dealer. If they refuse to do the warranty work then at least you have a decent mechanic that will perform the job for sometimes more than 50% the cost at a dealer.

Dude,
suck my big ****in *****!!! man. I usually dont curse alot, but can't help it. I went in to get some under tray screws for my evo, because those screws fall off. They said because my under bottom is scratch up, so that's why the screws fall off. Not ****in true but I'll take it. So warranty on that is "voided" right? Well, I'll buy the damn screws. Guess how much those screws cost? 3 bucks each!!!!
They treated me like ****. If
dont change their customer service policy, I will never buy another
again.
The 5000 mile service (I think every service) includes a tire rotation. I just had it done at my dealer for $75 bucks, which is not out of line seeing as it costs $50 for a synthetic change at the quick lube where they don't do a rotation. I know BMW dealers wash the car but I'd really rather do that myself. I sure don't want them running it through a machine wash.
